2020: Albums of the Year (#10 - 01)

There we are: my 10 favourite albums of 2020... Do yourself a favour and give these a listen by clicking the title... Enjoy!

10. Tenderlonious - Quarantena (22a)
If confinement translates in this kind of musical brilliance, we wish this pandemic goes on a little longer...

You thought 'Bandana' couldn't be topped? Gibbs & ALC proved everyone wrong...

Dutch musician and producer Reinier Thijs got rid of all imaginary musical boundaries and made the music he really wants, and the rest of us really need: raw and unfuckwhitable headnod punk jazz...
You should definitely check out his incredibly dope beattapes Night Store Beats and Soul Food & Skunk Breaks as well...

Soulful, smart and challenging progressive hiphop... Stunning stuff...

06. Homeboy Sandman - Don't Feed the Monster (Mello)
The Homeboy released the most honest and personal album of his career... Criminally overlooked record, if you ask me...

I've been impressed by Rejoicer's music before, but this one blew me away... A soundtrack for your strangest dreams...

So many great records focused on jazzy electronics this year, but this one is the belle of the broken beats ball...

Listen to this album and tell me you don't want to move to Napels and live the good life...

A new testament to Stephen Bruner's incredible talent and to his unrivalled weirdness... Bless the weird!

01. Tame Impala - The Slow Rush (Modular)
The one album I found myself returning to the whole year long... Kevin Parker created a perfect pop record without making any compromises: the songwriting is excellent, the lyrics hit home, the synths and guitars sound amazing and the drums are devine. I think by this point, it's safe to assume that anything this guy creates will find its way onto my end of year list. A little certainty we can all benefit from in these wholly uncertain times, don't you think? Thanks, Kev...
