It took us quite a while to get to the 20th episode of Smoke Breaks, but you can't believe how excited we are to finally present this new mix to all you weedlovin' beatheads...
Who better to revive this series than Smoke Breaks-veteran Thijsenterprise? After having created his supreme 'Sitting Under the Half-pipe'-mix, the Dutch producer and saxwizz had so much inspiration left he decided to make a whole beattape worth of mind-altering music to enhance your high: 'Soul Food and Skunk Breaks'. Since he's an extremely nice guy, he blessed us with an exclusive preview ahead of the tape's September 11 release via the excellent Rucksack Records.
It should come with a little warning sticker, though - this shit is seriously addictive. It lures us in with angelic voices and alluring sounds encouraging us to leave this atmosphere while monstrously massive loops creep up from behind thick curtains of smoke, leaving behind sticky green traces on the floor. Getting completely lost in the land of clouds while listening to this one is inevitable is what I'm saying...

Having turned heads with impressive projects like 'Stepbacks & Setbacks', 'Dokkum', 'Smoetsie' and 'Proefmonster' before making jaws drop with the brilliantly brutal free jazz meets beats fusion on his most recent 'Snits'-EP, the Barcelona-based Amsterdammer is not planning on slowing it down. 'Soul Food and Skunk Breaks' will be accompanied by another beattape ('Night Store Beats') dropped on the same day, and this fall will see the vinyl release of his new album 'Lahringen'. We can't wait to hear how he will blow our minds this time.
