First time I heard Mayer Hawthorne I was thinking 'hmm, that's odd; a dope soul classic I've never heared before'. Of course I was surprised to find out the funky smooth falsetto belonged to a 29-year-old white kid coming from Michigan. Two songs were enough for Stones Throw Records CEO Peanut Butter Wolf to sign the multi-instrumentalist, producer and singer to his label. Chances are you already heard this magical little tune cuz well... it's just that good!
